On my Mind

Today's prompt for #FMSphotoaday. On my mind is baby safety.

I use this playyard for my daughter, not as a small enclosed one but something that covers my entire living room. I mainly needed this to save myself from picking my daughter almost EVERY minute from scooting to not-so-safe places like wall corners, heater and electrical outlets. This is something which is unusual in my country India(I live in US now) and has been attracting so many comments from my relatives and friends, about how my baby is trapped inside! Though I keep telling them that it is for her safety, the comment irks me too much and wanted to put it down somewhere.

What I have learnt
I tried manual focus today to make the play yard the object of focus. I am sure it needs lots of improvement.

What I learnt
As a beginner, I find it quite easier to use the light-meter as a guide to set various parameters (Am aware that it might not be accurate at all times).

Something borrowed

Today's prompt for #FMSphotoaday is 'Something borrowed'.

What I learnt:

That something as simple as rearranging the books makes quite a difference, because of the color scheme.

Also, rather than focusing from top or side, giving it an angle gives a nice depth to the photo.

Yellow.. Spices from my kitchen

This is my first post for Photo-A-Day. The theme is yellow and I used spices from my kitchen(Turmeric powder is indeed an auspicious start, LOL!). I am not satisfied with the result, though. The color is not bright enough. I hope the contrast and composition is Ok!
